General

What is FitnessTests?

FitnessTests is a fitness-testing platform for PE teachers, coaches, and schools. It lets you run 30+ standardised fitness tests on any device, auto-grades results against age- and gender-specific norms, and syncs in real time across web, iOS, and Android so multiple teachers can capture results on the same testing day.

Tests & grading

Which fitness tests are included?

The platform ships with 29 tests covering aerobic endurance (12-minute run, 20m shuttle run, 400m run), muscular strength and power (push-ups, pull-ups, vertical jump, standing long jump), speed and agility (10m sprint, 505 agility, Illinois agility), flexibility (sit and reach), and anthropometric measures. Schools on the Growth plan and above can also add custom tests.

Where do the grading norms come from?

Ratings are calculated using published normative data cross-referenced by age band and gender. Each test page on the public site shows the specific protocol and the band cutoffs, so teachers can verify the methodology before using it with their class.

Platforms & devices

Does FitnessTests work on phones and tablets?

Yes. The web app is fully responsive and works on any modern browser, and there are native iOS and Android apps for faster in-the-field capture. A result recorded on a phone during a testing day appears in the teacher's web dashboard within seconds.

Does FitnessTests work offline?

The native iOS and Android apps can capture results offline and sync when the device is back online — useful for oval-based testing days where Wi-Fi is spotty. The web app requires a connection.

What's the difference between the web app and the mobile apps?

The web app is the control centre — teachers use it for the school dashboard, student roster management, CSV imports, custom tests, and reports. The mobile apps are optimised for running tests live: fast score entry, offline capture, and quick navigation between students on the oval or in the gym.

Pricing & trials

Is there a free trial?

Every school plan includes a 14-day free trial with full feature access, no credit card required. Individual students also get a free-forever account for tracking their own fitness outside of any school.

How much does FitnessTests cost?

School plans start at $99/year (Starter, up to 100 students), with Growth at $149/year (up to 300 students), Pro at $299/year (up to 1,000 students), and District plans starting at $999/year for multi-school deployments with unlimited students. All prices in USD.

Data & reporting

Can teachers run tests without the admin being present?

Yes. The school admin invites teachers by email, and once a teacher signs in they can see every team and student in the school and run tests independently. Results from any teacher flow into the same school dashboard.

How do I import students into FitnessTests?

Each team page has a CSV import with columns for name, email, gender, and birthday — only name is required. You can download a template from the import page. The importer validates the file before sending, so you can preview the first rows and catch formatting issues (like Excel-style encoding problems) before anything is created.

Can I export results as PDF or CSV?

Yes. Individual student reports can be downloaded as branded PDFs that include the student's results across every test, ratings, and a performance summary. Team and school-level result exports are available via the Reports section on school plans.

Privacy & security

Is student data private and secure?

Student data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with strict per-school access controls — only teachers invited to a school can read that school's data. Admin-created student accounts cannot sign in directly, so there are no student passwords to manage. See the privacy policy for full details on data collection, retention, and deletion rights.
