Designed for teachers, not against students

We built our PFT mode around SHAPE America's appropriate-use guidelines for fitness testing. Privacy-first defaults, criterion-referenced scoring, no public ranking.

Privacy by default

Results are visible to the student, their teacher, and their parent — never publicly ranked. Award generation is opt-in.

Criterion-referenced scoring

Students are measured against the published 2026 benchmark, not against each other. Effort and improvement are first-class.

Frequently asked

What is the 2026 Presidential Physical Fitness Test?
The 2026 Presidential Physical Fitness Test is a six-event battery announced by the President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition in May 2026. Students choose one event from each of three categories (Core, Cardio, Upper Body) and earn the Presidential Physical Fitness Award by meeting the published age- and sex-specific benchmark in every category.
Is the test mandatory?
It is mandatory at the 161 Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) schools across 30 military installations. For other public schools, implementation is voluntary and decided at the state or district level. Several states (including Arkansas) have already announced participation.
Which events count for the Presidential Award?
Curl-ups in 1 minute or a plank hold (Core), the One Mile Run or 20m Beep Test (Cardio), and right-angle push-ups or pull-ups (Upper Body). Students choose one event per category. Hit the benchmark in all three categories to earn the Award.
Where do the 2026 standards come from?
Targets are published at whitehouse.gov/fitness. Fitness Tests captured them on 2026-05-08 (PDF SHA-256 942f287f2c61…) and republishes them with a transparent revision footer. If the White House updates the standards, our data file is updated in a single PR.
Can I run the whole test in one PE period?
Yes. With six stations and a station-rotation workflow, a class of 25–30 students can complete all six events in 40–45 minutes. The Fitness Tests app handles timing, scoring and rostering so the teacher can coach instead of writing on a clipboard.
Is there a Fitness Tests app for this?
Yes — on web, iOS, and Android. The 2026 Presidential Fitness template auto-applies the choose-one-per-category rule, awards the right tier per student, and lets you bulk-export filled certificates after testing day.
